Mini- Radascan

CyScan
The standard laser sensor of choice by all major DP manufacturers
CyScan is a local position reference sensor for marine Dynamic Positioning (DP) applications. It measures the range and bearing of reflective targets allowing the DP system to maintain the vessel’s position and heading relative to the target structure or another vessel.
CyScan is also available as an Extreme Low Temperature variant for ice and arctic operations, for more information please click here.
Target requirements: CyScan will run off a variety of reflective targets. Click here for more information.
RadaScan
Premium long range, high precision radar sensor
RadaScan is an advanced position reference sensor for long range use in marine Dynamic Positioning (DP) applications. The RadaScan sensor is a rotating scanner mounted on the DP equipped vessel. It emits a microwave beam and accurately measures the range and bearing of one or more intelligent microwave targets called responders, allowing for the calculation of vessel position and heading.
RadaScan is also available as an Extreme Low Temperature variant for ice and arctic operations, for more information please click here.
“Both laser and DGPS have failed due to rolling and shades from the platform. We are slowly afraid of getting addicted and dependent to the RadaScan product”
Mini RadaScan
All the performance of radar with the precision of laser
Mini RadaScan is a scaled-down version of Guidance’s RadaScan system. While retaining RadaScan’s precision and all weather capabilities, its reduced size and weight allows it be used on smaller vessels than those traditionally associated with RadaScan.
Mini RadaScan accurately measures the range and bearing of one or more intelligent microwave targets called responders, allowing for the calculation of vessel position and heading. The system enables automated approach and station keeping relative to a rig or platform, or to another vessel.
Guidance has innovated the concept of microwave precision position sensing in the offshore DP market which historically was done purely by mechanical, acoustic, GPS or laser technologies. By introducing a completely new technology concept to the market Guidance Marine has achieved higher operational safety for these applications, more choice and higher levels of redundancy. Reflectors
All microwave and laser sensors require reflectors to be installed on the approach installation. The higher the quality of the reflectors the safer your vessel. Moving installations (FPSOs etc.) should have two reflectors in order to derive installation heading. Microwave reflectors provide all weather capability. Laser reflectors depend on having sufficient visibility. Click here for more information.
CyScan XT and RadaScan XT
New Design for Ice and Arctic Conditions
CyScan and RadaScan XT are extreme low temperature, -40°C variants, of the traditional sensors. The XT sensors enjoy all the functionality and operational benefits of the conventional laser and microwave reference technologies but have been designed to operate in ice and Arctic operations.
